1. Introducing: Our Truly Global Job Board

Discover & apply for jobs at the most global, candidate-centric & people-first companies in the world.

Today, we’re excited to launch our very first #wearedistributed product - a global, candidate-centric, employee-first job board! 🎉

Our candidate-centric job board was built to help global job seekers and workers find the best companies who are hiring in their country. We define 'best company' not by revenue, investment or klout, but rather by their internal policies, practices and behaviours as it relates to the candidate and employee experience.

This job board is designed to act as the first line of support for global workers looking for more meaningful work — no matter where they live.

Until a few years ago, opportunities like these were only accessible to citizens living in the richest states and countries (US in particular), but with the rise of distributed, remote work (people from the same organisation collaborating across timezones), employers can hire from all over the world.

Furthermore, companies realise they need world-class talent with diverse experiences & perspectives to compete and grow. And in order to access said great talent, they must expand their search for talent beyond their backyard.

What makes us different?

  • Roles must be open to candidates from at least 3 continents to be accepted. e.g. EMEA, which covers Europe, Middle-East (some Asia) & Africa

  • [Future] Every job will have a 'Recommended Salary', whether a company lists the salary range in their posting or not. This provides job seekers with accurate market data, so they can find and apply for roles which match their expectations from the very beginning

  • Employers who possess the most prized global, candidate & employee-centric attributes; e.g. 4-day workweek, global-timezone meeting friendly, salary range etc, will have their jobs shown first

  • [Future] Candidates can filter jobs based on the kind of company and manager they'd like to work with. e.g. diverse leadership teams, paid assessments, global-timezone friendly etc

What problems are we solving?

Job Seekers‍

  • Global knowledge workers with top skills can’t find well-paid, full-time work - often having to rely on freelancer sites like Upwork or their local employers

  • Remote jobs are mostly open to US-only candidates. Europe at a push. Even for “remote-first” companies, senior leadership roles (Director+) are mostly exclusive to North-American citizens

  • EMEA job listings are mainly open to European candidates only. Middle-East & African candidates have an awful experience applying for jobs with EMEA tags, only to later find they only hire Europe/US citizens

  • Candidates don’t know what their skills are worth in the global labor market today.

  • Limited accessibility to company & market data, makes it difficult to know whether joining a specific company is the right career move

  • Candidates can't afford to 'bet the house' with their careers. Candidates shouldn’t have to be in a job to find out a company only has 3 months to live

  • Exclusively western/male leadership team. Candidates feel discouraged when they can’t see themselves present in leadership teams

  • Being ghosted. Whilst this isn’t exclusive to global job seekers, it’s very demoralising for candidates to spend so much time & energy applying for jobs (whether they’re qualified or not), just to be ghosted. Especially in latter stages

Employees

  • Poor onboarding experience: Many companies overwhelm employees by throwing the gauntlet at them from day 1. Or providing no systemised onboarding at all

  • Meetings held at inappropriate times for APAC & EMEA employees: Unwritten expectations that EMEA/APAC employees should bend over backwards to accommodate US-centric teams

  • Heavy synchronous comms (meetings), especially if impromptu, creates a disruptive workplace where limited progress is made

The future roadmap

  • Show ‘Onboarding Quality Score’ on job postings & employer profiles. Our Workplace GraderTM will collect responses from real employees and we’ll serve this data through to our job board

  • Mark jobs with “async-first” tag for roles requiring fewer than 2 meetings per day

  • Once candidate applies for a job, we'll ask them every 72 hours "Have you received a response from [company]?". This data will be used to grade and compare employers' punctuality throughout the job application journey

  • All jobs will have a 'Recommended Salary' listed on them. This data will come from market-leading global compensation tools and employee data served in real-time

  • Allow candidates to setup alerts for a weekly, daily digest of jobs which match their saved criteria

  • Career levelling filter: Candidates can filter jobs based on an employer's approach to compensation reviews, promotions and job levelling

  • Enrich employer data with important company growth metrics

  • Allow job seekers to compare multiple jobs with each other

  • Give concessions to companies who are actively trying to build better people-first companies

  • Affiliate program for job seekers: Recommend an employer to post a job, earn unlimited commissions

We hope this job board becomes an integral tool for global job workers everywhere! If you have any ideas, feedback or would like to participate in future development cycles — be sure to join our #wearedistributed community.

Until then 👋
