Job board updates, global career progression & compensation and future of #wearedistributed community

This week will be a little different as we’re sharing some new product updates covering our job board and community.

Global Job Board

  • Our job board is moving to a freemium model; as we seek to provide global workers everywhere with as many opportunities as we can find. Currently have a record $5.1m of active, truly global job opportunities 💸

  • We're tracking 38 truly global employers — auto-posting their open job listings on our job board and deleting them as soon as they're no longer open. Using a combination of FiveFilters RSS Creator, Zapier & Make 🔥 (we're open to ideas to improve this process, if you're an engineer or product manager — get in touch with us)

  • All open jobs now have a ‘Recommended Salary’ value, regardless of whether the employer posts a salary range or not. We provide this data to help candidates make better decisions about where to apply to. This data is based on our global compensation framework, based on real salaries 😉 — more on that below 🚀

Global Career Progression & Compensation

  • We're building our very first Global Career Progression & Salary Framework; designed to help workers and employers make informed decisions surrounding their compensation.

  • This will be the framework we use internally when we give job offers, and to recognise performance. Our customers will also utilise the same framework to implement in their company.. In the future, we aim to layer in global equity/stock via a platform like Cake or Pulley.

  • We will share it first with our community members in the Product Updates channel for feedback

We Are Distributed Community

  • We've taken a few month's hiatus to spend time raising capital — we remain committed to being a community-first, bootstrapped operation for the foreseeable future. Naturally, this comes with tradeoffs, but we're playing the long game and we're glad to have you on board with us.

  • Our team will likely reconvene efforts in Q4 2023, but in the meantime we'll be launching our first community event in Q3. More details to follow on that shortly! 👀
